The world we live and work in today is fueled and maintained by countless software applications. From the devices we use in our homes to the tools that help us perform our jobs; we have become dependent on current software to function throughout the day.  Could you imagine if you had to pay a fee every time one of those software applications was updated or enhanced to be able to use your device or tool?  That is the situation your organization could face without a software maintenance subscription for your branch self-service and assisted self-service solutions.

Have you ever noticed those pretty images on the screen of the ATM you are using? Whether you work for the bank or are a customer, I think we can all agree that is better than looking at those not so pretty yellow numbers with the blue screen. Many have questions about what graphics can do for their branch and what impact it can have on their customers. As a Graphic Designer for QDS, I can assure you we make them look incredible, relevant, and reflect the community feel of the client. Northside Bank's customers would also agree. We recently had the pleasure of partnering with Northside Bank located in Adairsville, GA. We worked closely with the branch and our technician to make sure we had all of the necessary requirements in order to install their graphics. In this article, we will talk about the experience Northside had with QDS and the creative process in creating their new ATM experience.

One of the most common questions we get as we talk to clients about servicing their equipment is how many technicians we have in the area. This is a very logical question. Your institution revolves around your technology being operational and not down. Most of the time this question comes at a point when service is less than satisfactory and the client has been burned by another vendor in the past. While this question is logical, there are a few more variables that play a bigger role than number.

Have you ever wished you had stepped on the brakes a bit sooner instead of hitting the car in front of you? Ever wish you could have prevented that cavity by taking better care of your teeth? Yes, we know the feeling, but these concepts should also be applied to taking care of your equipment. Preventative maintenance is crucial to protecting your branch's technology investments and insuring the longevity of your machines.

It’s 80 plus degrees and all of the sudden your air conditioning breaks. As the sweat is dripping from every inch, you’re wondering why you didn’t call the service technician at the first sign of the problem. Well, it’s the same for your branch’s Cash Automation solutions. What if your bank was losing business due to a non-functioning ATM or your drive through is running slow because your TCD is down? You might have picked up the phone and called a service technician earlier instead of losing creating tension with your customers.

As humans, many times we look at electronics as being invincible. For example, we have the six Million-Dollar Man, the Terminator and even your handy dandy iPhone. We also look at these electronics as being easily replaceable. When the latest phones, TVs, or gaming systems are released, most times the older devices rest in peace at an ever increasing pace. However, ATMs are not as easily replaceable in comparison to these consumer devices. Your ATM is a high-end item that is required to have a long life span with very little downtime. To get the long life span and needed uptime, it will need proper maintenance.
